Suroy-Suroy Sugbo tours 15 northern towns

Fifteen of Cebu’s northern towns will be the official stops in next week’s Suroy-Suroy Sugbo, a tourism project of Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia.

Dubbed the “Northern Escapade,” the tour will run from August 30 to September 1 and will start on Thursday next week with a visit to the town of Consolacion where participants will have their breakfast. (Check map of the tour itinerary after the jump).

Assembly time for the tour is 6:30 to 7 a.m. on August 30 at the Provincial Capitol in Cebu City.

From Consolacion, the group will proceed further north to Compostela, Danao, Carmen, Sogod, and Daanbantayan, where the tour will stop for the day with dinner and a program.

On Friday, August 31, participants will leave Daanbantayan for Medellin and then proceed to San Remigio. It will leave San Remigio at close to 1 p.m. and arrive in Sante Fe at 2 p.m. and Bantayan at past 3 p.m.

Guests will be treated to a tour of churches and go shopping for local products in Bantayan.

The third day of the trail, September 1, will be spent visiting the towns of Madridejos, Borbon, Catmon, and Liloan. Participants will depart from Liloan at 7 p.m. for Cebu City.

In next week’s Suroy-Suroy, guests will have the added bonus of witnessing the holding of festivals in two northern towns.
