Swim, snorkel, dive in Pangan-an

One of islands usually recommended by boat operators and locals for tour destinations, Pangan-an in Lapu-Lapu City boasts of white sand and clean and clear seas.

Water around the island is shallow so big boats like yachts can only anchor a few meters away from the shore, but snorkeling is possible at this deeper part since this is where fishes congregate.

Christmas lanterns to adorn major Asean Summit routes

Local governments in Metro Cebu will be putting up native Christmas lanterns or “parols” on major streets as part of preparations for the coming Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit.

The Philippine Information Agency 7 reported that businesses and households in Cebu City have been asked to beautify their surroundings and put up Christmas decors and lights. The move is meant to highlight to visitors the Christmas tradition in the Philippines, a country reputed to have the longest Yuletide celebration worldwide.

Aldea del Sol houses in Lapu-Lapu, Mactan

The Aldea del Sol subdivision is in the village of Bangkal in Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan island. It has two house models–Redwood and Daphne–that are of Spanish-inspired themes.

Filinvest Land Incorporated, which owns the subdivision, considers Aldea del Sol among its middle-income projects and the cost of the houses in the subdivision ranges from 1.5 million (close to $30,000 using May 2006 exchange rates) for the Redwood model to 3 million pesos for the Daphne model.
