The Inasal (roasted pig) festival of Talisay City may not be staged this year as Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez called for a full accounting of how government funds and donations were spent for last year’s celebration.
Mayor Fernandez, according to a report from Sun.Star Cebu, has put on hold the decision on whether to hold the festival this October in response to calls for the Talisay City Government to account for the funds.
Talisay City reportedly spent P3.2 million for last year’s staging of the festival, held to highlight the city’s lechon or spit roasted pig industry. Talisay City is known for its delectable lechon.
Councilor Shirley Belleza said last year’s staging of the event not only helped the lechon traders but also other small businesses and even street vendors.
Belleza said this year’s Inasal Festival would have been bigger as they planned to combine its staging with the Halad (or offering) Dance, a yearly offering to Sta. Teresa de Avila, the southern city’s patron saint.
Ahh. No inasal. You guys should go to Bacolod Chicken Inasal instead.

Yes its true talisay is known for lechon or roast pig. Yes there lechon taste good… And i discover a new online store for lechon. They are base in cebu but they deliver lechon in Manila airport to airport. I try it na this month lang. July 5 it was my brother birth day and we order lechon from them. And we pick up to the airport. The lechon was great. Its taste good. The tasty meat and crunchy skin. Wow! It so yummmmy. The meat was tender and juicy. And take note it is very much affordable compare here in manila. Hindi pa masayang ang pera mo kasi masarap talaga ang lechon nila.
