Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2006 officially kicks off this Friday, May 5, at the Ayala Center Cebu. The summer events open the annual celebration organized by Cebu’s business community and government to highlight emerging opportunities for trade and industry in Cebu.
Organizers of CBM 2006 have prepared a series of sports-driven and fun-filled activities for the celebration, officials said in a press release.
One of the activities scheduled for this year is the PLDT-Smart Mall challenge at the SM City Cebu atrium on May 20 and 21. The competition will be based on the concept of team building. Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry members and representatives from call centers, hotels, restaurants, resorts and major corporations in Cebu will comprise five-member teams for the competition.
Also part of the annual celebration is the 2nd San Miguel National Badminton Tournament on May 27 and 28 at Metro Sports in Salinas Drive, Lahug. The leveling schedule for those who want to join the badminton tournament is on May 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on May 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Another annual event held during the Cebu Business Month is the Treasure Quest: The Sun Star-Isuzu Challenge. This year’s edition will be held on June 3 and organizers estimate at least 400 people to join the event.
In the annual Treasure Quest, teams tackle challenges, guided by clues and instructions, along the contest route in Metro Cebu. Teams are composed of a minimum of two and a maximum of four participants aged 18 years old and above.
Scheduled on June 22 and 23 is The Petron fleet card-PLDT Business Solution Business-In-Golf Tournament at Cebu Country Club. (PR)
