Cebu Pacific offers Zamboanga, international seat sale

PHILIPPINE national flag carrier Cebu Pacific announced it will maintain zero fuel surcharges, and proceeded to lower fares for domestic and international destinations in a sale from January 29-31, 2011 or until seats last.

The airline is offering “Go Lite” seats from Zamboanga to Cebu and Davao for P688 and from Zamboanga to Manila for P888 for travel from March 1-May 31, 2011. It is also giving a 50 percent discount in fares to its 16 international destinations, for travel from April 1-May 31, 2011.

These destinations are Kota Kinabalu, Taipei, Singapore, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Macau, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Brunei, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Jakarta, Busan and Osaka.

Cebu Pacific to expand flight operations by 18% in 2011

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, plans to increase flight frequencies by 18 percent in 2011, making available a total of 14.5 million airline seats for its passengers.

“We aim to fly 12 million passengers in 2011, an 18 percent increase from last year’s targets. Internationally, we plan to grow our passenger base by 35 percent,” said Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

The airline said it is factoring in an expected 20 percent increase in passengers to Greater China, where it flies to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Macau and Hong Kong. Cebu Pacific currently flies 80 flights weekly from the Philippines to Greater China.

Iyog added, “We have also just recently announced the beginning of Cebu Pacific‘s Manila-Busan operations this June. We already fly to South Korea’s 2nd largest city from Cebu, and this new route will allow more tourism and business between the two countries.”

Philippine Airlines offers Chinese New Year, Valentine’s air fare promo

PHILIPPINE Airlines (PAL) celebrates two important social occasions next month with two major seat promotions covering flights to all its domestic and most international destinations.

For the Chinese New Year holidays, a PAL promo dubbed “Grabbit!,” in celebration of the upcoming Year of the Rabbit, drops PAL fares to a flat rate of P1,102 for a one-way flight on Fiesta Class (economy) between Manila and any point in Luzon or Visayas.

For one-way flights on Fiesta Class between Manila and any point in Mindanao, the promo fare is P2,011.

Covered by the promo are flights between Manila and Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Laoag, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Zamboanga.

The discounted fares are available for ticketing until January 24, 2011 and are valid for travel from February 1 to March 23, 2011.

Cebu Pacific passenger carriage up 19% in 2010

The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific flew almost 10.5 million passengers from January to December 2010, an increase of 19 percent over 8.76 million in 2009, the company said in a press statement.

CEB’s growth was mainly driven by a 38 percent increase in international passengers, which numbered over 2.23 million in 2010. The airline flew 8.23 million domestic passengers, up by 15% from 7.14 million in 2009.

The average load factor for the year for both domestic and international routes was 85 percent, an increase of 8 percentage points compared to last year.
