Cebu Pacific offers promo Cebu-Clark, Manila-Indonesia fares

For as low as P499, Cebuanos can fly from Cebu to Clark via Cebu Pacific from May 1 to August 31, 2010.

The promo fare, though, is exclusive of government taxes and fees, and tickets must be booked from March 18-19, 2010.

At the same time, Cebu Pacific is offering airfares from Manila to Jakarta for as low as P2,499, also exclusive of government fees and taxes.

Travel time for the Indonesia seat sale is from June 1 to August 31, 2010.

Cebu Pacific sells domestic seats for P588

Cebu Pacific is offering airline tickets for as low as 588 pesos from Cebu to Pagadian and several other domestic destinations.

Ticket sale for Cebu to Pagadian is only until February 25 while travel time is from April 27 to July 31, 2010.

Manila to Pagadian, on the other hand, costs 988 pesos and travel starts on June 9, 2010.

Other domestic seats costing 588 pesos include those from Manila to either Tuguegarao and Laoag, and Cebu to the following areas: Butuan, Clark, Dipolog, Ozamis, and Siargao.

Argao’s Bugasok Falls

Hidden far deep in Argao’s mountain barangay called Conalum is the town’s majestic Bugasok Falls. A trip to this southern town in the province of Cebu would not be complete without a visit to the upland river that flows down a rocky cliff to create this rumbling water form in the heart of Argao.

The less difficult or more enjoyable way of getting to Bugasok Falls would be to trek through the riverside starting from the bridge built over the river in the mainland.

But since we were pressed for time, we chose to ride the infamous or dangerous “habal-habal,” which is what they call a motorcycle for hire (popular in mountain areas not reached by other means of transport) that can seat as many as five people in a single ride.

A million people show up for Sinulog solemn procession

Thousands of devotees carrying Sto. NiƱo images in various shapes and sizes attended the solemn procession that preceded the grand parade during Cebu’s celebration of the Sinulog Festival last January 19 and 20.

The two events are among the three highlights of the month-long Sinulog celebration in Cebu City in January. One other is the fluvial procession, also held on Saturday but at dawn.

The rains did not stop people from attending the procession that started at 1 p.m. At the start of the line were altar boys and priests, Knights of Columbus members, and a group of physically handicapped individuals. Continue reading
