Ajinomoto will hold the Umami Culinary Challenge Visayas from 7:30 am-6 pm on September 22, 2012.
Battling it out for the Umami Bowl at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) are schools like Cebu Eastern College, Cebu Institute of Technology, UNiversity of Cebu-Banilad, Univerty of Cebu-Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, University of Cebu Main Campus, and the University of the Visayas, among others.
Other participating schools include Talisay City College, Lapu-Lapu City College, Holy Name University in Bohol, and others.
Aside from the school-based culinary competitions, there will also be a cooking demonstration by Chef Sean McSavaney of the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) in Cebu.
Dr. Aurora Saulo, a food technology specialist of the University of Hawaii, will talk about myths and facts about food additives while Chef Eugene Raymundo will tackle food styling.
John Macoy, technical service manager of Isla LPG Corporation, will do a Solane product presentation.
Tgere will also be a film showing, games, and raffles during the event.
