Pool or beach? We were undecided what to try first in Tambuli Beach Club’s west wing.
The white sand beach beckons–Tambuli, after all, boasts of having the largest natural shoreline among resorts in the island of Mactan in Cebu–but it’s pool has the added attraction of a Jacuzzi hot tub.
In the end, we decided to spend an equal time on both.
We splashed in the shallows of the sea, swam in the deeper part, and lay on the sand for a sunbathing session, while more adventurous beach goers tried out the resort’s aqua sports equipment like the jet ski, aqua bike, and banana boat. Still others went parasailing.
After our sea sojourn, we soaked in the cool waters of the west wing’s huge pool and played water sports.
The west wing is one of two resorts that make up the Tambuli Beach Club. The other is the east wing. The Cebu Beach Club nearby is also among the Tambuli resorts in Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan.
The Tambuli resorts are among the more affordable ones in Mactan.
Entrance to the Tambuli Beach Club east and west wings is 350 pesos. Of the amount, P300 is consumable, meaning it can be used to pay for lunch or snacks. Beachgoers can opt to add 100 pesos to the entrance fee and be entitled to the lunch buffet.
An overnight stay, good for two, in the west wing’s superior rooms costs 5,198 pesos. The east wing has standard rooms, for 4,004 pesos, and deluxe rooms, for 5,720 pesos.
The resort currently has a promo package, only valid until October, for local tourists.
At 4,700 pesos, locals can avail themselves of an overnight stay at any of the west wing’s superior rooms. The package is good for two and is inclusive of breakfast and a choice of lunch or dinner.
For corporate functions, the west wing has a conference room that can seat 80 in theater-like setting, 70 in a classroom-like arrangement, and 30 in U-shaped layout.
An overhead projector, slide projector, white board, and other video equipment are available upon request.
The west wing also has a business center with photocopying, facsimile, computer scanning, and Internet services.
Other available services are laundry, massage, and babysitting.
The resort also provides airport transfers, car hire, airline ticket reconfirmation, and information and city tour bookings for out-of-towners.
How to get there
Tambuli is in Barangay Soong in Lapu-Lapu City on the island of Mactan. The easiest way to get there from any area in Cebu is to take a taxi. From downtown Cebu City, the resort is a 200-peso taxi ride away. If you want to take public transport, you can take any of the jeepneys with Soong in their route markers. These jeepneys pass the road near the public market and at the foot of the two Mandaue-Mactan bridges. You can just tell the driver to drop you at the nearest area to Tambuli and then take a tricycle to the place. You can also choose to take a tricycle from any part in Lapu-Lapu city to the resort.
Here’s a map to the resort, you can drag it around as well as zoom into it to familiarize yourself with the place.
