If you ever find yourself in this paradise-island called Cebu in the Philippines, here are five things to do to get the most out of your stay. This post is part of the group writing project at Problogger.
1. Hit the beaches or go diving
A narrow strip of land that is 200 kilometers long and 41 kilometers wide, the island province of Cebu—which is ringed by over a hundred other smaller islands—is home to several white sand beaches and spectacular dive spots.
Worthy of mention are the beaches and dive spots of Bantayan, Malapascua, Alegre and Camotes in the north; Olango, Mactan, and Sulpa in the east; and Moalboal, Badian, and Sumilon in the south.
Of Cebu’s over a hundred satellite islands, some are uninhabited and are favorite destinations of local and foreign tourists.
Pool or beach? We were undecided what to try first in Tambuli Beach Club’s west wing.
The white sand beach beckons–Tambuli, after all, boasts of having the largest natural shoreline among resorts in the island of Mactan in Cebu–but it’s pool has the added attraction of a Jacuzzi hot tub.
We’ve uploaded the directory pages for Cebu resorts and police stations. When you travel to places in Cebu province, take the numbers with you. The cellphone numbers listed there are the best way to contact the stations in case of emergencies as duty officers have been ordered to act on complaints sent through these numbers.
These directories are works in progress and we will be continually adding more entries.
The Inasal (roasted pig) festival of Talisay City may not be staged this year as Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez called for a full accounting of how government funds and donations were spent for last year’s celebration.
A hotel chain in Korea will be building a P3-billion five star resort in Lapu-Lapu City, Sun.Star Cebu reported. The resort, Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa, will be built on a 7.5 hectare property in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.
We have uploaded the directory of Cebu hotels, inns and pension houses. The page is still incomplete and we will be adding more entries to it. We will also be adding more establishment listings that may be of help for tourists in Cebu.
We are also working on the next version of this site as well as finishing pending articles so do check back in the coming days. In the meantime, if you have suggestions, feel free to send it to us via the comments section of this post or through our contacts page.
